Trade Show Must-Haves

You may go to trade shows to speak and schmooze, but unless you deal with the nitty- gritty business of setting up the booth, you probably have no idea what is really required to survive a trade show.

In addition to the basics, like registration information, confirming your booth location, your signage and your marketing materials, you want to get in contact with the venue to find out what they are able to provide you. Be sure to find out what they provide as standard and what is extra. For example, if you need a dolly to bring your boxes in, they may provide one for you, or offer an extra cost service where you can rent one instead of bringing your own.

Items you can often rent will include curtains, lights, television stands, chairs, and tablecloths. One thing to remember to never rent is computer equipment. There is nothing more stressful than arriving to use rented tech equipment and have it malfunction. So, bring your own, if possible.
